Knossos is the archeological site on Crete. Sure, much of it has been "restored," which is a bit of a cheat, but, at the same time, it helps one visualize what life was like here nearly 4000 years ago. This is the place where Athenian youths completed in games like bull-jumping... and died.... and where legends of a maze and minotaur originated. Here is what the Hellenic Ministry of Culture has to say about Knossos.
You'll see that one of our photos is of "the mysterious travelers". On our first day in Greece we went to Knossos. And we ran into this extended family of travelers there. And then, later that day, we though it was very weird when we were back in town, and saw them at the museum at the same time we were there. But it didn't get really weird until we were in Nafplio three days later, and saw them walking around the town. And then it got silly when we saw them at Epidavros... and then in Olympia, at our hotel, and then on the streets of Delphi. And so on and so on. We basically saw them almost every day, even when we were doing things in a slightly illogical order, or choosing to spend an extra day here or there.
