wedding cake

Alright, so this building isn't really called "The Wedding Cake". That is, it's really the Victor Emmanuel monument -- but since shortly after it's construction, to commemorate the fellow that united Italy into a single country (less than 200 years ago) it's architecture has inspired various critiques, the most interesting of which is the building's nick-name, "The Wedding Cake."

Although the gallery space didn't appear to have anything worth standing in line to see, while we were there, I was curious to see it, none-the-less, since it was the setting of the ill-fated architecture exhibit in Greenaway's Belly of an Architect.
